Public Speaking
Almost had to go into office today because the Controller from corporate was flying in and wanted to meet everyone; however, I had to help teach a class over Teams that required three monitors, and I would only have my laptop and one monitor at the office (if I got lucky and grabbed one before they ran out). So I got a pass to work from home. Then the Controller’s flight got cancelled and his new flight didn’t depart till after 5:00 today, so no one had to go in, anyway. There have been a lot of false alarms about coming in to work lately.
The class I was helping teach was to over sixty people. Although it was over Teams, it was probably the biggest public speaking audience I’ve had. It wasn't even for my own department. The Revenue team asked me to chime in because our team helps them with stuff and I guess they like my work. Also, employee evaluations have already been done for the year, so I won't even get credit for this, just whatever benefit comes from other people doing their jobs right as a result of listening to me. I’m glad it’s done. I’m wiped out.
