Office Holiday Party
Most everyone went into the office today, which was the day of our lunchtime holiday party. Olive Garden did the catering, so I had spaghetti with meat sauce, fettucine Alfredo, salad, and bread sticks. The big boss forgot to arrange for dessert! We had a white elephant gift exchange. I scored a travel mug and some specialty coffee. Then we had to sit around with the Controller and another person from corporate and talk about the weather and traffic for an hour, when I really just wanted to go home. Before we left early, my boss dropped a bomb on me that admin employees will be recorded on corporate’s payroll books next year, which is fine, except the year-end payroll accrual which I book will be affected. We don’t have enough information for me be proactive in any way except for me to feel anxious, though. Thanks for the Xmas gift!
