Ah, first school day of 2005. It was made less enjoyable by the weather, but all in all, the trek back with not so bad.

In English we discussed the Scarlet Letter (which I still need to finish). I still need finish reading The Shipping News and start on my English essay. I haven't even picked a movie yet. I'm thinking a Disney movie, just for shits and grins. Objections, anyone? Otherwise I'm doing some depressing indie film that won some award at the Sundance Festival and/or was directed by Clint Eastwood.

Engineering was a work day. My partner and I drafted out our machine of terror.

AP Euro, the highlight of my day if only for Avian Johnson. Unfortunately the study guides are getting anything but shorter. Fortunately the final we have will be purely extra credit, which means one less class to worry about. Did I mention that Avian Johnson is in the class?

AP US History, my second journey into the past of the day, was as standard as ever. Except I actually finished the quickwrite and my homework in class. Talk about revolutionary. Hardly anyone did the homework over break either. I was shocked that I for once wasn't the one incredibly behind.

AP Physics. Bleh. Failed the Final, C in the class. Oh well. I can't say I can blame anyone but myself. Something about math and logic I just don't understand. I guess I'll never grow up to be a scientist.

Lunch was spent in the Library with Kyrah, Rene, and Devon. I looked stuff up in the "G" encyclopedia while we talked about college and organization, among other pressing issues.

Math was fine. Kate thought I was being racist when I said "coon" in class, which of course I intended to be short for a "racoon" as in the saying "I haven't seen you in a coon's age!" Of course, Kate has a dirty mind. Still, that's the second time I've said something derrogatory in front of a teacher without my knowing. I guess I'm just naive. I hate proofs. I didn't get like, 3 problems on the homework because I just got stuck. I'm still better than in 9th grade, but there's something about logic I just can't do.

Speaking of homework, I did all of mine either before I went home or immediately after. It felt nice. I'm sure I won't be doing it much more, but I hope that I can at least try to be more studious this semester. After my first C, I had better pick up the pace. The good news is I have an A or will hopefully have an A in every other class, meaning my GPA will at be at most a 4.4, 3.7 unweighted.

I started to study for the New SATs today. A lot like studying for the old SATs, really. Gotta start picking colleges to visit during the summer.

I also need to get my DS back from Clea. Anyway, I should head off to bed now. Nighty night homies.
