Okay, so I have to admit that I wasn't the biggest fan of the Farm In Iowa stories in general. I'm a city girl at heart, and the whole idea of moving to Iowa still reads a lot more like the biggest nightmare ever than a romance to me. I sometimes think Connecticut is driving me insane, and at least that's close enough to NYC. What is Iowa close to? Cows?
That being said, I think this particular fic is really exceptional. It has that slow meandering realism that made the first story good, but combines it with a greater sense of urgency that the previous fics sort of lacked. Also, I love a lot of the funny little ultimately meaningless arguments that sheafrotherdon comes up with for the guys to have. Also, finally, finally bringing the events of cannon into this universe. Awesome.
