Humble pie. Now with half the embarrassment but all the taste.
Click to viewI've been silent here for awhile- a couple of weeks, basically- and while that's short term for most people (a good number of whom start and LJ and never even update it even once), for me it's quite a while.
Last entry I hinted at the things I wanted... from other people, essentially. Neil and I have been talking quite a bit about personal matters. He pointed out that characters like Kazuma (from S-CRY-ed) are very needy indeed. The need for friendship, approval, is a cultural influence active in us. I pointed out acting like "I reject that influence" doesn't affect it, but rather is our attempt to ignore or disregard it, but it doesn't go away. In fact, it probably cannot be forced away at all. Understanding can help you deal with it when it is triggered, at least that's basically what I suspect.
So basically all of us who come here and devote our energies to this LJ crap are doing so because we seek praise and acknoweledgement we don't get in life... me included. *gets bad taste in mouth, but doesn't look away* You know, Cool Whip wouldn't do much for Humble Pie.
