Feelings Make Things Messy, But They Also Make Things Interesting - Today's Recap, 4/5/10
I would just like to preface this entry by saying: I totally love it when boys make out on my TV screen. Oh yes, I do! :-P What a nice afternoon treat. :-P
But uh, apparently Casey was thinking with the wrong head today. x_x Reason #1 why you always use a condom? Because, in the throes of passion, the dumb bitch can LIE RIGHT TO YOUR FACE! :-P
Also...Trent and Colleen are my heroes for the day, for rocking out that silly dance routine and looking so damn cute while doing it! TEEHEE! That was probably the cutest thing (non-boys related) that I've seen on this show!
All right so...I'm going to save the best for last. So let's talk instead about how much I want to SWING VIENNA AROUND BY HER HAIR.
Okay, FOR REAL?! Henry tells her he needs space. Vienna goes and gets drunk with Casey. She invites Casey back to her room at the Lakeview and then LIES to him about being on the pill when he asks if she has a condom. Casey's still half-blitzed by alcohol, and they...y'know, whatever...have sex or whatever. :-P (Still can't wrap my head around this!) So then Vienna basically says, "Kthx, bye!" and kicks Casey out of her room. Then she calls Henry to ask him to come over so they can talk, and she pinches herself to elicit a whole batch of fake tears. Henry sees that she's upset and tries to assure her that everything will be okay, and she tells him to take his time with everything, and gives him back his ring. BUT HER ULTERIOR MOTIVE IS TO GET PREGNANT WITH CASEY'S BABY AND PASS IT OFF AS HENRY'S WITHOUT EITHER OF THEM KNOWING.
Okay, so...I'm a woman. I understand the desire for a child. I want to be a mom someday. BUT THIS IS COMPLETE AND UTTER INSANITY! SERIOUSLY?! How is this going to work out? A) Vienna is successful in keeping the baby's paternity a secret, and she ropes Henry back into being with her. Except that he's still stuck on Barbara every minute of every day and can't give her the devotion that she needs. B) Vienna is not successful about keeping the baby's paternity and Henry peaces out on her. She then drops the bomb on Casey that he's a daddy. C) Vienna sucks at keeping secrets, Henry peaces out, she drops the bomb on Casey, and Casey tells her to go die in a fire. Vienna is now a single mom. Or D) Casey takes care of her and the baby, but all the while hates himself for compromising his future as a lawyer, and constantly feels thrust into a life he wasn't prepared for (literally wasn't prepared for, because he didn't use a condom!). OH YEAH, AND HAVE I MENTIONED THAT CASEY'S ALREADY DONE THE BABY-DADDY THING?! *supreme headdesk*
And now Vienna's integrity has been destroyed! If she gets pregnant, and all this comes out into the open, who is going to trust her after this? I can only see her getting hurt. And worse, she'll be pregnant while having to deal with all of this!
Argh. Maybe I'm not thinking it all the way through (or maybe my love for Casey is clouding my judgment), but I don't think ANY of this is a good idea. Thoughts? I'm totally open to the other side of the coin!
And now Barbara and Henry. HEE!
So Henry scares Joe away from Barbara, which was actually an accident. Joe mistakes Henry for Paul and starts giving him a rash of shit about treating his "mother" badly, and when Henry gets all up in arms about how wonderful and beautiful and sexy Barbara is, Joe basically goes O_O at the two of them and jets out of there, thinking they're sickos. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA these scenes were absolutely fantastic. Then Barbara gets all rawr! hiss at Henry for scaring away the first man who's taken an interest in her since her fling with him. She wanted to go to dinner and go dancing, like Joe said. So Henry takes her to Metro and enrolls them in a disco dance competition! LULZ. Of course, they beat out the other pair of dancers with whom they'd been tied for first place, because Barbara was devious and somehow made the other girl dancer slip in the bathroom and hurt her ankle. LOL. Barbara and Henry are getting all cozy again when Vienna calls with her fake tears and lies, and Henry rushes off to see her. Barbara is left upset, but she seems to understand. Boo. She then takes the enormous trophy home and sets it on her shelf in front of her mirror. HEE! Adorable Barbara FTW!
So Lily and Holden show up at Memorial as moral support for Luke. While Luke's reaming Reid out over his attitude (more on them later), Holden and Lily are trying to calm Luke down. They assure Luke that Reid is just staying on the side of caution, but Luke will have none of it. Molly shows up for Holden and Luke goes outside to take a breather.
I have to say, I am liking Lily more and more each day. :-) Her jealous twelve-year-old is nowhere to be found! YAY! So Lily and Holden decide to go home, because Noah's going to be in recovery (and unconscious) for a while. Holden goes home to the farm to discover that Molly has made him a yummy candlelit dinner, while Lily goes home to discover her front door has been left wide open. Panicked, she calls Holden to come check everything out, and Holden runs to her, leaving Molly sitting at the table drowning her sorrows in a glass of wine.
Poor Molly. :-( I don't think Lily is purposely trying to yank Holden away from her at this point, but it keeps happening nonetheless. And now that Holden's on Craig Alert (and is keeping his stash of paddles handy, LOL), Lily barely has to say anything before he's charging over to defend her life.
Turns out that it was just Natalie being careless with the door. They should talk to Natalie about that, 'cause that's not a good habit to start forming! Lily gets upset about everything with Luke, and Holden hugs her, telling her that everything will be all right.
*puts on The Killers' "Everything Will Be All Right"* :-P
Oh boy. So now on to Luke and Reid.
I know some people are going to hate on Luke for acting the way he did today, but honestly...can you blame him? This is just who Luke is. He cares about people with all his heart and soul. Add on top of that the fact that he still blames himself for Noah's accident, and you really can't blame him for freaking out.
And there's multiple reasons why he's freaking out. 1) Noah could have brain damage. BRAIN DAMAGE. 2) Luke still holds himself accountable for Noah's condition. 3) Luke has feelings for Reid that he just doesn't know what to do with at the moment. And 4) Luke is confounded by Reid's feelings for him. CONFOUNDED. It's almost as if Reid said, "Life is a cheeseburger," and then asked Luke to tell him the meaning of it.
So, short of the long: Luke FLIPS HIS SHIT on Reid, and Reid lets him. (Oh, Reid...) Dr. Bob orders Reid to go home, because Reid is upset and only wants to keep going over his scans and racking his brain about why things went the way they did. Reid goes home, and Luke chases after him to give him yet another piece of his mind. :-)
Btw, I'd just like to say: Shirtless!Reid is only eclipsed by Shirtless!Zipper!Reid. :-P Holy mother of God...I think I heard the fangirl screams echoing around the world when Reid came out of his bedroom still zipping his pants up. LOL!
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes. So Luke comes in to screech at Reid, and their conversation kinda went like this:
L: HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?!
R: I DUNNO!
L: DO YOU HAVE FEELINGS FOR ME?!
R: I DUNNO!
L: I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF!
R: Wanna make out...?
L: OKAY!
*boy smooches ensue*
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA.
No, on the serious side, Luke comes in to ask if Reid bungled Noah's surgery on purpose. Reid is really hurt by this accusation, but he keeps his cool. He says something to the effect of, "How could you even possibly think that of me? Don't you know me at all?" to which Luke gets flustered and goes on and on about Reid's possible feelings for him and how he doesn't know Reid at all, and then Luke gets all choked up about Noah and says that he "Can't" and Reid asks, "Can't what, Luke?" and puts his hand on his face (Oh, Reid! I love that he puts his hands on Luke's face all the time) and Luke has his woobie!face on and Reid asks him again (and still Luke doesn't answer), and then they kiss. And HOLY HELL, I mean they KISS. That was no peck on the cheek, my friends!
And the good part? The show ended with them smooching...which means that tomorrow's gonna pick right back up in the middle of it! Does this mean that we can assume the two of them will be kissing each other from now until 2pm tomorrow afternoon? :-P I can live with that! HA! ;-)
And Reid was genuinely upset about Noah. He had his own woobie!face in the doctors' lounge when Bob was telling him to go home and get some rest. Oh, Reid. This experience might be humbling for him, which I can't decide is a good thing or a bad thing. One of the things I like best about Reid is how jerky he is about being the most awesome surgeon who lived. :-P I don't want him to lose his sarcasm; it's part of what makes him so great, IMO! I hope he doesn't second-guess himself for too long. Noah will be okay! I'm keeping the faith. :-)
Oh, soapland. How I adore you. This triangle couldn't get anymore sudsy if it tried. :-) I'm a little sad that we didn't get to see Noah today, though. I kinda feel like one of the Snyders, just waiting to see how he looks after the surgery (although I kind of already do, LOL. Thanks spoiler pics! :-P). Pretty sure we'll see him tomorrow, though! Ohh, the drama of it all! :-D
