Protection - Today's Recap, 2/23/10

Feb 23, 2010 15:43

So my dad was making food in the kitchen while I was watching the show in the living room, and periodically he would pass through and catch a glimpse of the show. After about fifteen minutes or so, my dad calls out from the kitchen, "So...you like the blonde even though she's trying to break up the other two?"

I laughed and said, "Yes." (He was referring to Carly.)

Then he said, "She looks kinda evil."

I laughed again and replied, "She's not evil, Dad. She's trying to protect Jack because they love each other."

Dad says, "Oh," and we go on our merry way.

:-D Silly Dad! I just thought that was very funny. If only he knew the half of it!

So, since we're on the topic of Carly, let's start with her!

I really REALLY liked her today...how she cornered Janet and simply wouldn't accept any of Janet's excuses. I used to like Janet, but these past two episodes she's been driving me up the wall. Now she's frantically trying to cover all her bases because she's worried that she can't keep all her secrets straight. Seriously, Carly should just tell Jack. Really. Any friend would do that; Carly should be no different. Jack most likely already kinda half-suspects it, anyway. So Carly should just tell him.

And Dusty today! Oh, Dusty. ♥ Janet is a moron for trying to keep this charade up. Seriously. Dusty says flat-out today that he doesn't want to be anywhere else but with Janet, that he would take care of her, and that he would take care of Liberty. What else does Janet need, a written invitation? Seriously! JUST BE TOGETHER, YOU TWO!

But instead, we have to suffer through impending sexytiems with Jack and Janet. Oh, Jack, NO. Don't do this!

This is a very bad situation. Both Jack and Janet are in love with someone else. Their marriage has been in peril for so long I can't even remember how long it's really been. They're only staying together because Jack thinks he needs to stay with Janet because of Liberty, and Janet thinks she needs Jack's support because of Liberty. (See?! Liberty manages to foul things up yet again! :-P) The truth is that neither one of them need each other. They've both got someone else who's chomping at the bit to be with them. And they want to bring a BABY into this? So, first the kid gets sacrificed to save Liberty (*eyeroll*), and then the poor kid's gonna have to live through unhappy parents and most likely a divorce (if Janet can defy her faith) and Liberty's continued antics. Yeah...that's a great home life for this poor kid!

Not to mention that...I dunno...Jack was just like, "Oh yeah, let's do it!" and then they went upstairs. How romantic. That's the perfect atmosphere to make a baby. Ugh.

Janet needs to stop lying to herself. Carly needs to tell Jack the truth. And Dusty needs to keep pushing Janet away from Jack. Hopefully BEFORE Janet gets pregnant!

Oh, yeah...and Janet said it herself: what if Liberty doesn't make it through the nine months (and then some, since I'm sure they wouldn't throw a newborn into this right away)? Then they'll have one dead kid and one kid as a constant reminder of the dead kid. Awesome. Way to think things through, Janet!

Don't mind me - I'm just going to be eternally facepalming until the four of them get their acts straight. :-)

Now let's switch over to the other branch of the Snyders. :-)

All right, so, I'm a sucker for spoilers, and the one I read about Luke and Holden was something like Luke not being satisfied with Holden's answers about what happened with Damian - something like Luke didn't think Holden was being truthful. But, honestly, that's not how I felt when watching the show. The spoiler implied that Holden was going to withhold information from Luke, but I don't actually think he did. Actually, for the first time since the dock fight, I think Holden was completely honest with Luke!

Holden said he didn't know if Damian was still alive; that he didn't know how badly Damian was hurt. And he admitted that Damian was unconscious when he dragged him onto the freighter (unconscious but alive at the time). The only thing I suspect Holden could be lying about was when he said that Damian came at him and he defended himself. Of course, we don't really know who went after who, but I think it was more probable that Holden went after Damian, because Damian was very calm on the docks, while Holden was flipping out. So maybe he could be lying about that, but I don't think that's why Luke asked Margo for the file on Damian that had the crime photos and such. I think Luke just wanted something concrete instead of just whatever everyone else was telling him. And who could blame him? I'd do the same damn thing!

And Luke and Reid. Hee. I like them together, but not together together. I don't want Reid to have an incurable case of The Drifting Gay. I'd actually like for Reid to remain straight. But his scenes with Luke are always so good, I just love them. Love how Luke completely slammed into him by accident at the hospital and they immediately got snarky with each other. :-) I'm so glad Reid helped him, too! Aw. Dr. Oliver has a heart. ♥ It might be tiny and made of steel, but he's got one! :-P He offered his help, even. And now he's going to help Luke prove that the photos from the Maltese government are not of Damian! Yay.

And Luke was so cute, because he was trying to be polite but not at the same time. LOL. GET OFF MY PHOTOS, BITCH! :-)

Aaaaaaand Molly and Lily. Can women have pissing contests? If so, Molly and Lily are entangled in a BIG ONE right now. Good God. Lily needs to back the hell off, because if she hasn't noticed, HOLDEN'S MOVED ON. And oh yeah, you betrayed him when you married Damian, ya dummy!

She irks me with her constant Holier Than Thou attitude. You're not perfect, either, Lily! You've made some really dumb mistakes in the past. And Molly was right - at least she was trying to protect Holden!

Don't get me wrong - I understand why Lily would want to keep digging for info about Damian, especially since it was all such a shock. But she always gets all high and mighty when it comes to Holden, and I really don't think she has the right to be that way at the moment. Molly's not perfect, either, but I feel like Molly genuinely cares for Holden right now, whereas Lily just doesn't want to lose her power in his life. Does that make sense? Kinda like the "If I can't have him, nobody else can, either" saying. That's how I feel Lily is like right now. She just doesn't want to lose Holden to another woman.

Not that I blame her. ;-) But...she made her bed (and tucked Damian into it)! :-P

So, all in all, Carly's trying to protect Jack, Molly's trying to protect Holden, and Holden was trying to protect Luke and Lily. And they're all making us crazy in the process! :-P
