Use Your Grief To Fight - Today's Recap, 2/10/10
Hi guys!
Sorry such a late recap today - CBS decided to pre-empt the show in favor of the news, which was covering all the happenings of the winter storm that hit the NJ/NY area today (and the snow is still falling!). Had to wait till CBS uploaded the episode to watch it.
And on a side note, today has been proof that my world isn't right when I don't watch the show. I have been the clumsiest piece of crap today, and I blame CBS. :-) I need ATWT to keep everything in my life flowing! :-P Honey would agree, since one of my blunders today included accidentally pouring my half-full cup of hot chocolate down her arm. Wasn't funny at the time, but now it's pretty hysterical! HAHAHAHAHA. Poor sis.
Ahem. Recap now. :-)
Okay, so, boys. Oh, boys. I gotta admit that I'm handling this whole ridiculous Dr. Oliver "rules" thing much better since Noah is still being somewhat closer to himself. If he was still being nasty and angry, I'd probably be all up in arms. But since the boys had such a sweet talk at Java today (barring the whole "Surprise! I'm moving in with my ex-girlfriend!" thing), I'm doing okay with it. They held hands and talked about their dads. *_* So sweet, and so supportive. And how scared Luke was that he had ruined Noah's chances with Dr. Oliver? Oh, God. Be more awesome, Luke. And he was pretty damn awesome about Noah moving out, too...especially considering his feelings the last time Maddie ("Maddie") was in town.
I'd like to point out though, that while I agree with Noah's statement of "It's okay to hate your dad", I also think it's okay if Luke still loves Damian. It's really no shock that Luke has all these conflicting feelings for him. Luke had finally gotten everything from Damian that he'd always wanted, and then Damian goes and screws it up again. Not directly to Luke, but enough to throw Luke for a loop. So, even though Damian made a lot of mistakes and hurt the people Luke loves, I still think it's okay for Luke to love him. They are blood, after all (not that that means everything) and they had finally formed a solid relationship with one another.
Poor Luke. My heart is breaking for him. That scene he had with Dr. Oliver, when he went off about Damian's disappearance and all that? T_T WAHHHHH. And then his woobie face when he told Noah and Maddie to go for the apartment? T_T I can barely stand it. The poor kid. Holden said it himself - Luke's life is a mess right now. *SOB* And he had to hold back tears when he was talking with Lily and she hugged him. My heart!!!
And Holden! Where the hell are you? You recognize the fact that Luke's life is in shambles, but you're not HELPING HIM! Oh, Holden, I want you to help him in the worst way. First, I want you to come clean about Damian, because Damian's disappearance is driving Luke and Lily absolutely nuts, and then I want you to be Luke's rock. HE NEEDS YOU! Screw Natalie and her stupid family tree project (sorry, Nat...Luke trumps you in my world :-P) and GO BE WITH YOUR SON! You know, the son who's just barely keeping the tears in check?! God.

I also gotta say, though...Noah living with Maddie is so totally cute. It's funny how I want the boys to kiss and make up so badly but the thought of Noah living with Maddie is adorable to me. I guess I'm jaded from that last episode with Noah, Maddie, and Hunter. :-P I don't want the boys to be apart, but I love the soapy goodness of all the angst, and c'mon...Noah and Maddie are great together as friends. I think it's funny that they can make living together work now. Haha! (Just as long as the Colonel doesn't come back into the mix.)
And hey, I've said this before (maybe not here on my journal, but I firmly believe it) - every straight girl needs a gay boy best friend. For real. They dress well, they smell good, they like chocolate, and they talk about boys! What more does a girl need in a friend? HAHA!! Plus, this new living arrangement opens up some sweet fic opportunities. :-)
And as an aside, I would also like to say that I wouldn't mind seeing a Holden-Luke confrontation happen. Nothing that would destroy their relationship. Just something about Luke finding out about the truth of what Holden did to Damian (whatever it is), and them having a heated face-to-face about it. Luke's going to find out sooner or later, especially since he already started suspecting Holden today. Let's just get it all out in the open and take it from there. It's a sad day on ATWT when Lily is the only one Luke can lean on! :-P
And now on to Reid. HAHA. Did you see the way he "comforted" Katie on the couch? Oh, the LULZ. They never end.
So basically, Katie was crying over how unfair life is, and Reid "comforted" her while looking like he smelled a fart. I think he was thinking something close to, "What...what is this? You're beautiful, and your hair is soft, and you smell good, and...OH GOD GET IT AWAY FROM MEEEEEE!" HAHAHAHA. I never knew Katie could repulse someone. Leave it to Reid.
But in all seriousness, their scenes today were really good. I like how Reid doesn't baby Katie. He pretty much lays it all right on the line for her, which I think she kinda needs. He could tone it down a little bit, considering her feelings were hurt today, but he still managed to help her. And he opened up a bit about his past, and showed that he himself has those funky things called "feelings". They just don't live on his sleeve.
So, here's my guess about Reid's past. Initially, I was going to go with something like he killed his wife accidentally while she was pregnant, but with that phone call he made today, I'm thinking maybe it's his son or something. Maybe he didn't catch something - like a tumor or whatever - when he thought he should have, something happened to his son, and he now blames himself. I mean, he said he came out of the womb all stone-faced and hardened, but I highly doubt that. There's got to be something that changed him into the apathetic person he is today. And it's most likely something horribly emotional. *cue dramatic music*
Oh, and Honey would like me to tactfully mention how she thinks Reid should GO FRIGGING DIE IN A FIRE. I think she used the term "asshole" and "douchebag" somewhere in there, but I can't be too sure....

And poor Henry! I love that he always gets himself into trouble, because he's so hilarious. I think maybe the nurses should have actually tested Henry for TB while he was stuck in quarantine, but whatev. It made for a very funny scene with Henry in his underwear. :-)
And Maddie, too. Girl just kinda keeps getting more awesome, doesn't she? I love how she's there to talk about Luke with Noah, and how he can admit to her that Luke has been such a big part of his life for the last couple of years. *swoon* Yes, let's talk more about how Noah loves Luke, please. I could watch an entire episode of that!
Okay, so...since Chando is leaving in March...then one of two things is going to happen: Noah and Maddie move in together (maybe with Hunter as a third :-P) and then the boys reunite when Maddie leaves town, or Noah and Maddie never actually get to move in together, and the drama continues with the boys. I guess we could also say that Noah and Maddie don't get to move in together and the boys reunite anyway, but let's be realistic, ok? :-P This is soap world, and happy endings do not come that easily. (Oh, but the party I will throw if that happens! :-))

And quick mention, Meg and Holden were cute today. I'm glad Meg checked herself back into Deerbrook, because clearly, she needs to be there. I wouldn't let her touch Eliza with a fifty foot pole at the moment, especially since she turns into a screeching crazy person every time the "D" word is spoken. :-)
And now Molly's assigned to Damian's MIA case. Oh, how convenient! (Or inconvenient, lol.) :-)
Oh, and Lily today. BLAH BLAH I HAVE TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO DAMIAN BLAH BLAH. She's thisclose to mentioning to Holden that she suspects foul play between him and Damian. Just gotta wait till she actually gets there.
