As Vienna's Pathetic World Turns - Today's Mini Recap, 6/30/10

Jun 30, 2010 16:44

If I rolled my eyes ONE MORE TIME during this whole episode, I swear they'd get stuck in the back of my head. I am SO OVER Vienna and her stupid, annoying "baby" plot.

I'm so glad that Barbara is on to her! I can't even tell you guys how happy that makes me. Now all we can do is hope that Barbara has the guts to follow through on telling Henry the truth (or at least part of it, since Barbara doesn't know that Vienna's not really pregnant). Please, PTB...throw us a bone here. This storyline is KILLING me! And not in the good way. Today's episode was basically centered on Vienna and her stupidness with bits of others - really good characters like Kim, who deserve more screen time - thrown in on the side. WE GET THE CONCEPT, SHOW. MOVE ON! 'Cause at the moment, I kinda wanna beat Vienna over the head with her own shoe.

Ugh.

On the upside, Katie and Chris were absolutely adorable today. I'm a little worried that ATWT is going to drag this out for so long that by the time Katie finally admits to having real feelings for Chris, we're not even going to care anymore, but I suppose that's the risk we have to take. :-) Even though she lied about her ankle today when Chris asked her to dance, she still danced with him, and she was so happy that he gave her the flower to remember him by. :-) Hee. Total cuteness. Now we can look forward to how they're going to be at the wedding! Cross your fingers for more adorability! (Yeah...that's not a word, but you get what I mean. ;-))

And my darling Kim, how I love you! I wish she hadn't stopped Barbara from rushing out of the ladies' room to tell Henry that Vienna is the biggest slut that ever walked the planet, but other than that, Kim was a shining star today. She boosted Barbara's confidence about how she's able to get any man she wants (which is just speaking the truth, really), and she talked to Chris about his love life without interfering too much. ♥ Kim rules. There's people other than Bob in Oakdale who need to listen to her more! Kim should be president of Oakdale, I've just decided that! :-P

And Luke and Reid. I'm not even going to mention how we only got a sliver of them today, because if I got upset over how many times Luke/Noah/Reid's storyline has been put on the back burner, I'd be criminally insane right about now. So let's just focus on the good stuff! :-)

Basically, Reid was a butthead (which I loved), but only because he was trying to protect himself. I wish he would just let his guard down with Luke the way he does with Katie, but I guess Katie's kinda like Home Base, so she doesn't really count. What counts is that Luke is slowly but surely chipping Reid's armor away, and Reid is really just letting him do it, because he wants him to. Even though he lied and said quitting his job had nothing to do with Luke, Luke wasn't buying it, which means that Luke is starting to learn who Reid really is. And, as I'm sure we've all predicted, Luke gave up his seat on the board so that Reid could have his job back. GOOD BOY, LUKE! I knew he would do that. It's such a Luke thing to do. ♥ And did you notice how when Luke said Reid gave his job up for him, Reid didn't deny it? Oh yeah. :-)

Also...I totally loved how Luke called Reid an idiot. Hehe, Luke. And Reid was just like, "Uhh...whoops. I overreacted...my bad!" HAHAHAHAHAHA. Understatement of the week! :-P

And...what was Reid drinking then? If whatever he had at Yo's wasn't alcohol...

Things that make you go hmm. ;-)

And question...okay, so Reid's this brilliant neurosurgeon whose reputation precedes him, in every possible good way (except if it's about his personality :-P). He's saved countless lives and I'm sure had as many close calls and probably pulled some things off that no one ever thought he'd be capable of, medically speaking. In this episode alone, there were two very reputable hospitals vying for his talents to be a part of their staff.

BUT THE MAN CAN'T COOK HIS OWN DINNER?!

C'mon, ATWT...give Reid some more credit than that, sheesh! I despise cooking, but even I can make myself a decent meal every night!

But then again, maybe that's what's sparked Reid's love of food...maybe since he can't cook, he truly enjoys food when it's prepared right (by other people)? LOL. Or is that backwards? Maybe he'd hate food if he couldn't cook.

Agh. I don't know. This shows how much of a life I have, huh? Debating Reid's eating preferences. HAHA!

Anyway...moral of the story: I'll be glad when Vienna finally gets her just desserts. (Or "deserts", as Google tells me that spelling it like "dessert" is actually grammatically incorrect. Huh!)

Aaand previews! OH HELLZ NO MICK DANTE AIN'T SENDING ALISON LETTERS. REALLY, SHOW? REALLY?! Looks like I've got more eyerolling to do! *headdesk* This should be fun.

Not.

:-P
