Aaaaand Gabriel's Pants Are On Fire - Today's Recap, 5/21/10

May 21, 2010 21:56

Liar, liar, pants on fire: Gabriel Caras sells Craig down the river with one teeny tiny humongously incriminating lie.

All righty, so...let's start with Parker.

He's at the station, basically all, "Hello, Earth to Margo...I confessed!" and she's too dumbfounded to think clearly. After a beat, Margo tells him to shush because he needs a lawyer present. She calls Jack, who's with Carly at their house, and the two of them rush over to save Parker.

The three of them have a sitdown at the station, where Parker informs them that he confessed partly because he doesn't want to be the one keeping the two of them apart. Jack commends him for his behavior, and Carly says, "We three are a united front from now on," and Parker gets taken to be processed by an officer. Quick as a wink, Carly turns on Jack and screams, "I'M GONNA KILL YOUUUUU!" (or something of that nature :-P) and says she will never forgive Jack for not protecting their son. Jack peaces out of the room, and when Parker comes back, he and Carly share the most heartwrenching and adorably sweet scene I've ever witnessed between the two of them. Carly starts to cry and she hugs him, saying that he's the one person who's never let her down and he's the best son ever. Oh, gah. It was so sweet and so sad! :-( Parker is a good son. ♥

Jack has been yanked off the case by a very angry Margo, who spent much of her day with Craig, talking about Gabriel, and the charges that Craig still faces. Craig doesn't hear much, because he's thrilled with the recent news from the doctor that Gabriel is finally breathing on his own and should be expected to wake up soon. Little does he know that Ms. Lucinda Walsh has already gotten her hooks into Gabriel, even as he calmly sips his coffee at Java with Margo.

So Lucinda sneaks into Gabriel's room and just happens to be there when he first wakes up. She tells Gabriel she was a friend of his mother, and Lydia was a dear woman whose memory should be honored. We find out later that Lucinda somehow convinced Gabriel to lie about what happened to him at Monte Carlo, because when Craig goes into his room ro meet his son, Gabriel tells Margo that he got back up after Parker hit him (truth), and Craig was there in the room (lie). Gabriel then says that Craig threatened him with a, "You're never getting out of here alive," (double lie), and Craig looks like he's about to burst.

Gotta say, while I love Jon Lindstrom from his days on Port Charles, Craig is not one of my favourite characters. I don't hate him; just don't have much feeling for him, really. But in this scene, when Gabriel deliberately lied to Margo about Craig being there, I felt so bad for Craig. He was absolutely heartbroken. Completely crushed. T_T

Bad Lucinda! Go to your room!

And Gabriel...you're kind of a turd. Really. I understand that you're mad at Craig or whatever, but really...this is not a white lie. This is a HUGELY AWESOME mother of a lie. Bah.

So yeah...Gabriel? Not scoring any points in my book. I wonder what little Libby Lu would think if she knew about all of this. Would she still label him a "good person"? She shoulda stuck with Parker. :-P

But! But! There was epic cuteness in the form of Janet and Dusty today! WHEE! :-D

So Dusty shows up at Al's to take Janet on their "first" date. She suddenly remembers that it's her father's birthday, and while she doesn't hold Dusty accountable anymore, she's still not over her father's death. So Dusty takes her to Old Town, where they sit and he asks her to tell him about one of her father's birthdays. She ends up telling him how her father had this tradition of planting trees for every child that was born in the family. "The Family Orchard". Janet then says that she found out her father planted a tree for Liberty after he'd met her the first time in the hospital ages ago. She starts to cry and Dusty is so sweet with her (wiping her tears, kissing her cheek....AGH DUSTY DONOVAN I FRICKING LOVE YOU TO PIECES) and he grabs her up and takes her back to her apartment.

Janet's all o_O "WTH are we doing here?" and finds out that Dusty bought a tree for the two of them to plant to uphold the tradition in honor of her father. They bicker happily while Dusty shovels the dirt and Janet waters the tree, and then they end up in a wet heap on the ground giggling and kissing and I LOVED THIS SCENE LIKE WHOA! OMG MOAR KISSY CUTE SCENES, PLZ. Absofrickinglutely ADORABLE. *_*

Hee!

Jack shows up at Janet's apartment and asks her to tell Liberty that Parker's in custody and to explain the whole fight with Gabriel, and she promises she will tell her before anyone else does. Dusty then suggests that Janet go with Jack so they can figure things out. They leave, and Dusty is left grinning at his tree. Double hee!

I love him. No, I mean I love him. I FRICKING LOVE DUSTY DONOVAN LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE. How damn cute was he today? Holy crap. :-D

And previews!

If you noticed, it was Van who said the, "Next week, on As the World Turns" today. :-P Not gonna lie, I listened to it a couple times before I watched the previews. Ha!

So we have Craig being hauled away by Margo while pleading with Gabriel not to throw him under the bus, Katie almost running Chris over with her car (an eye for an eye? Since he'd almost hit her when he came back to Oakdale), Gabriel and Lucinda as scheming BFFs, Jack calling Craig a "lousy son of a bitch" (Yee-haw! Lay it on him, Jack!), Henry almost walking in Vienna/Casey sexytiems *headdesk* DO NOT WANT, and Carly and Jack being all smoochy and lovey-dovey again. Sounds like a packed week!

I will tactfully not mention how Noah/Luke/Reid were NOT in the previews (whoops, guess I mentioned it!), but word on the street is that ATWT has something good up their sleeves and doesn't want it spoiled or something. Sounds exciting to me! I look forward to the end of this week! :-D
