It's All About Family - Today's Recap, 5/17/10

May 17, 2010 20:47

Lisa hits the big 5-0 tomorrow! And by that, I mean it's the 50 year anniversary of her arrival in Oakdale. ;-)

Today's episode was basically ALL about family affairs. We had Tom trying to plan something special for Lisa (oh Tom, you're a good man!), Carly trying to protect the crap out of Parker, and Craig dealing with his *gag* love for Gabriel. With Kim, Bob, Jack, Lily, and Margo on the side.

So Tom, Bob, and Kim get together at the Lakeview to brainstorm ideas so they can throw a party for Lisa and her anniversary. Bob and Tom are thinking wings and kegs at Tom's place, while Kim suggests a tea at the Lakeview. Lisa is eavesdropping, though, and fires them all on the spot after hearing their suggestions. HA!

Instead, Lisa wants to put on a musical of her life. DUDE. I want my life to be made into a musical! Granted, it wouldn't be too enthralling, and a large part of it would be dedicated to hott boys making out with each other, but still! I want! :-)

Tomorrow's eppy is when we get all the musical goodness. (Ahem. And Chris and Katie are sucking face like it's their job.)

Also, Bob surprised Kim with plans for a house to be built for them in Arizona, should Kim want the house for their retirement. Since Bob's overseeing the building of the new neuro wing at Memorial, he was able to strike up a deal with the same architect, and they can basically have the house of their dreams if they want. HEE! So cute. :-D I think I know where Bob and Kim's story is going to go. ;-)

So the cat's out of the bag where Parker's concerned. Jack knows it all. He and Carly go back down by the lake to talk about what to do. Carly basically pleads with Jack not to tell anyone what happened because Parker's future is at stake. Jack's pissed that Carly made Parker keep the truth from him, and he ends up just walking away from Carly. Later at the station, however, when Jack's presented with the opportunity to tell Margo what happened, he bails. He then calls Carly to tell her he couldn't do it, and she's over the moon. Seriously, I love Carly and Parker together. I think Carly's idea to lie to Jack was spectacularly stupid, but I love how Carly is so protective of Parker, and I love how Parker loves her. ♥ They're really cute together. I think Carly sometimes needs Parker to keep her conscience intact. :-P

And last but not least we have Craig and Gabriel--

... ... ... ... ... ...

Oh, sorry...fell asleep for a minute there. :-P

So Lily lies to Margo and tells her that Craig knew that Gabriel was his son before the fire happened, as a way to "make it up to" Craig. Later Lily makes Craig promise (pinky-swear! spit-shake!) that he will do everything in his power to be a good father to Gabriel, and he swears that he will. Lily said something like, "Make sure he's not that angry young man anymore. Make sure you're there for him!" and now I have Styx stuck in my head. (Why must you be such an angry young man, when your future looks quite bright to me...? :-P)

Margo is convinced now that Craig wouldn't have tried to kill Gabriel by leaving him there while the fire was ripping through Monte Carlo (because Craig just luuurrrrves his children *pukes*), but she has no other leads to go on at the moment. She and Craig actually shared a very emotional scene in Gabriel's room, right after Margo found out he was her nephew. Craig almost went ballistic because he might lose the chance to ever know Gabriel, but Margo talked him down from a serious freakout. (This scene was kind of the equivalent of when Luke and Reid got stuck in the elevator, Reid started flipping his shit, and Luke made him feel better. :-P)

So that was today. Tomorrow looks like fun! We've got Lisa's life being re-enacted by the residents of Oakdale - whee! - and we've got Barbara and Henry making out! Double whee! Unfortunately, Vienna the Skank is going to mess that up for them. :-/ Urgh. Vienna. What has happened to you, my dear? This is all very bad. :-(

Till tomorrow! :-D

~G

PS - Recaps are going to be a little later for the next couple of weeks. I'm temping at an insurance company - kill me - till 5pm every day, so I'm not able to watch in real-time. No worries, the recaps shall go on! :-D They just might be later at night. :-P
