Summary: Ryo is the second son of a Southern lord who became a knight and ran away from home to serve under Lord Hitoshi Ueda. Tatsuya, who always wanted to be a knight, but never could, is the son and heir of Lord Hitoshi.(Hopefully there will be a better summary later...)
Prologue
The sound of men shouting and swords clashing together rang throughout the air as a warm breeze blew through the tourney ground. The audience watched, cheered, and shouted as the knights below fight each other for the honor bestowed to the winner of the king's tourney.

Five-year-old Tatsuya, son of Lord Hitoshi of House Ueda, watched in awe of the brave men fighting below him. He had grown up hearing his mother's stories of brave, valient knights, those that would protect the weak and defend justice. He grew up wanting to be one, but knowing he never could be because he would have to take over as Lord of Dragonkeep after his father died. He would create knights, and knights would come to pledge their allegiance to him, but he would never be one himself.
The knight in blue knocked the other knight off his feet and held his sword to the other's neck causing the fallen knight to yield, winning him the tourney. Tatsuya looked on in envy of the man as he was everything the future lord wanted to be, but never could. A smile as wide as his face snuck onto the young boy's face as he watched the winning knight kneel in front of the king and imagined himself in that knight's place.
