Well, don't let the title of this entry fool you. Today was another good day at work, aside from the fact that I had to get up 5am. I always understood, places are open that early, that means someone has to get up that early, but I never thought that someone would be me. XP
The reason I say I was set up for dissappointment is because I have been reading entries over at the
customers_suck community for a couple months now, and as this was my first job period, let alone my first job in retail, by the way some of these people complain I was really expecting to get reamed out by some asshole.
Obviously, it's a good thing that didn't happen, so I'm not complaining.
I got to use the till today. Just a bit of practice. Maria has like three boxes of reject practice stuff and we were ringing up $300 orders for practice.
Then I actually got to pack, which was more stressful, but apparently I passed. When people came through with a lot of stuff I started to panic. I thought they were going to get upset because I was going so slowly, but I guess I wasn't. The cashier was going too fast, not that that's a bad thing. =p
Laleh (one of the other trainees) got put on a live till, because they were short a cashier. One of the other trainees also quit. (After a single day of training.)
I have to go in at 6am again tomorrow, but then next week I have four 4 hour shifts, which thankfully, had to be later in the day, because we need to buddy up.
So far things are going pretty well.
