Hey folks! It has recently come to my attention that FA has disallowed hotlinking, so I am entirely unsure which tutorials of mine may be linked in memories that may be broken. Hey everyone! Im curious if anyone knows where i can get thread in bulk. Im looking for Coats Dual Duty XP heavy thread or at least thread close to that strength. Im not looking for thread used for sergers as they will not fit my sewing machine.

Please let me know. I will really appreciate the help! :)

For those who do a lot of handsewing... is a good hand stich stronger or weaker than a machine-sewn stitch?  I realize a lot of it depends on what type of thread you use, but in general, how durable is a hand-sewn fursuit?

I tried using the duct tape method of where you dull the tape by putting it against standard cloth/cotton a few times before applying it to the head, but it's become a huge mess where some pieces just haven't stuck together right, rips, shreds, too ( Read more... )

My monofilament thread came in today, so I whipped up a little sample of it vs. my normal upholstery thread.

So after the recent few posts on fleece I've been talking more about it, and got a recommendation to use mono-filament thread for a more invisible seam (paired with the right stitch, of course). So today I did a little tested out how well I can make hand paws. I did it on some crappy fake fur that I bought at jo annes that was on sale... they turned out really well :) so anyways I was just using some regular crappy thread to go with the crappy fur, And i was wondering what kind of thread I should get that is strong and wont break as easily ( Read more... )
