I was overly optimistic when I posted that her gums looked much better. They are, in fact, the same: no improvement after over a week of antibiotics. Her diarrhea is also pretty much the same. The next step with the diarrhea is to test her poop for a particular kind of parasite that doesn't show up in regular testing. That might explain her diarrhea (and, also, that Zathras and Snowcrash have been having loose stools, though not full-blown diarrhea), but it won't explain her gums, which will have to wait until more testing can be done when we bring her in for an appointment over our anniversary vacation late June/early July. (It was so much of a struggle for me to get her into the carrier that I want help, and Rob's work schedule until then is likely not going to allow him to make a weekday vet appointment... and our vet no longer has Saturday hours.) If it is a parasite, though, this may have serious implications for Chesapeake Cats and Dogs, because it makes it possible that some of the cats there also have this parasite.
Anyways, on Monday I get to watch Cinnamon going in and out of the litter box (it was requested that the sample be "as fresh as possible"), and then take her poop to the vet. Fun.
In the meantime, I'm going grocery shopping for the first time in forever today (I usually avoid grocery shopping by myself because of the difficulty of carrying stuff or walking); I have a Quaker committee meeting tonight (in Trappe, 45 minutes away, but this committee is AWESOME and is actually providing me with transportation so I can attend). Then tomorrow I visit with kitties at Chesapeake Cats and Dogs and then have a meeting with one of their members to help finish the content of their current website (while they may want me to redesign it in the future, they're going to stick with what they have for now), then I come home to make Lebanese salad...
for my visit with
oneonthefence on Saturday! Saturday will be pretty busy: first, the Arthritis Walk (which does NOT have arthritis-friendly hours; we need to get there around 8AM); then Rob and I drive over to visit with
oneonthefence. I don't think we'll get to spend as much time there as I'd like because Rob's had a really tough work week and is exhausted, but it'll still be great to see her. :)
[EDIT: Won't be going to the committee meeting tonight... got some bad news and don't feel up to it.]
