Conflicted Research Scientist seeks Voice of Reason (VOR) to assist in navigating the research ethics vs. workplace diplomacy divide. Somebody needs to have some sense slapped into them: either me or my boss. Remind me that my reputation doesn’t hang on a last minute shoddy abstract, or play the Rocky theme music and let me at her!
Ordered priorities include:
1. Keeping job and reasonable collegial relationship
2. Maintaining space for honest feedback
3. Improving quality of research to be submitted and preventing boss from embarrassing herself (and me in the process)
4. Killing a terribly thought out project
