2013 Summer F.U.N. Schedule Of Events

7th Annual Summer FUN Convention

Florida United Numismatists, Inc., is hosting the 7th Annual Summer FUN Convention in Orlando Florida

When July 11th - 13th 2013.

Where The convention will be held at the Orange County Convention Center, 9800 International Drive in Hall WC. This location is across I-Drive from the new facility in which the January FUN Convention is held.

Hours Of Operation The convention opens to the public at 10:00 A.M., July 11th and will run through 5:30 P.M. July 13th.

Convention Hours

Thursday July 11th
10 am to 6:30 pm

Friday July 12th
10 am to 6:30 pm

Saturday July 13th
10 am to 5:30 pm

Numismatic dealers from around the country will converge at the Orange County Convention Center to buy, sell and appraise coins, paper currency, tokens, medals and other items. Make sure to mark your calendar for this great event.

This is a temporary listing of the Schedule of Events for the 2013 Summer FUN Convention. The final schedule will be posted approximately mid-June. Yet to be added to this schedule are the Heritage Auction and lot viewing schedules, as well as possibly some club meetings. Please check later for the final schedule.

Noon Security room opens. Security is open 24 hours a day until closing at noon on Thursday, July 11. Room W209C.

Wednesday July 10th 2013

Security room open 24 hours a day until noon on Thursday, July 11th Room W209C.

9:00AM-6:00PM Heritage Auction Lot Viewing. Room W209AB.

9:00AM-7:00PM Dealer/Exhibitor registration. Corridor outside exhibit hall WC.
Dealer pre-registration and photo ID open.

2:00 PM Security begins in bourse area. Hall WC.

2:00-7:00PM Dealer/Exhibitor set-up. Closed to the public. Hall WC.

4:00-7:00PM Avoid the long lines and register early! Early Bird badge holders may enter the bourse area. Hall WC.

6:00 PM Heritage Auction Lot Viewing closes.

7:00 PM Dealer/Exhibitor registration closes.

7:00 PM Bourse/exhibit areas closed. Hall WC is secured.

Thursday July 11th 2013

8:00AM-6:30PM Heritage Auction Lot Viewing. Room W209AB.

8:30AM-7:00PM Bourse & exhibit areas open to authorized persons and early bird badge
holders. Hall WC.

9:00AM Public registration begins. Corridor outside exhibit Hall WC.

10:00 AM Summer FUN convention opens to the public.Ribbon cutting ceremony outside
Hall WC.

Noon Security room closes and will reopen at noon on Saturday, July 13th. If you have
specific security needs please speak to someone with Positive Protection, Inc., or anyone on the FUN board.

1:00 PMEducational Seminar “The Wonders of Collecting Foreign Coins,” by Bob Hurst.
Foreign coin collecting is one of the most interesting and exciting areas of numismatics. Current FUN Vice President Bob Hurst is one of America’s most respected world coin dealers. He’ll tell those in attendance how to get the most out of their world coin collecting experience in this wonderful program. Room 314B.

2:30 PM Educational Seminar “Florida Checks from A to Z,” by John and Nancy Wilson
Former ANA President John Wilson and his wife, Nancy Wilson, are both avid check collectors. Together they will present a fascinating slide program geared toward check collecting in the sunshine state. If time permits, they’ll also take questions from the audience. Room 314B.

1:00-2:30 PM FUN Member Club “Get Together & Discussion” moderated by FUN President
Tony Swicer. By invitation only. Room W315B. More information can be downloaded Here

1:00 PM Educational Seminar. “The 5-5-5 Silver Dollar Program,” by Randy Campbell
ICG senior grader Randy Campbell is a recognized expert in U.S. Silver Dollars. Today, Randy will give 5 dates in the silver dollar series he likes for potential fun and profit, 5 tips to improve your grading skills, and 5 ways to avoid buying counterfeit silver dollars. A short question and answer session will follow Randy’s program. Room 314B.

2:30 PM Educational Seminar“Errors and Varieties Found on U.S. Tokens” by B.J. Neff
Mr. Neff, a FUN board member, is one of America’s leading error and variety experts. Today he takes a close look at some spectacular errors on U.S. Civil War Tokens. This outstanding power point presentation promises to be one of the highlights of the Summer FUN convention! Room 314B.

Exactly what is a type coin? What are the best grades to collect? Where’s the best place to buy them? Former FUN board member Tom Palmer has all the answers in this most informative educational presentation. His program promises to be a hit with both beginning collectors and advanced numismatic investors. Room 314B
