Winry bit her lip to keep from laughing at that and patted Ed's arm. "It'll be alright if she helps a little."

"Hey, I learned to cook pretty well," Ed shot back. At that, Alphonse started fussing in Nicolas' arms, prompting the boy to look up at his mother helplessly.

Nicolas nodded and handed the baby back to his mother. "Um, do we need to bring him a bottle or something?," he asked.

Madeline rolled her eyes at her older younger brother. "No, Nick, she feeds him. He's too little for a bottle. Right?"

Winry nodded and cradled the baby against her chest, but didn't feed him just yet. "Babies drink breast milk when they're first born, honey."

Nicolas wrinkled his nose at that. "Yeah, well, where do you get that?," he asked, ignoring his father, whose shoulders were shaking with barely contained laughter.

Madeline stood up, smiling down at her parents as she moved away from the bed. "I'll go too, so you can have privacy."

Winry smiled again and nodded. "Come back in a little bit, and you can both watch him while we take a nap, okay?"
