So, this story is a thing. This is actually the first story by this author, though she has gone on to do more of them. And they're all Kishichigo stories.

I will admit now that this pair-up is a NoTP for myself, simply because I never understood how people could ship this with Kisshu acting the way he does. Now that I'm older and that I've rewatched the show, I will confess that I can understand that people could see this based off the final few episodes of the anime, or even as a FoeYay ship. However it is the fact that fans ship it straight and then proceed to absolutely destroy Masaya for being in the way of it that turns me off further, otherwise I would've acknowledged it as another ship that I just don't happen to be into.

This author is unfortunately one such shipper. The lengths she goes to to make Masaya in to the bad guy - Ryou as well, since he's another shipping option for Ichigo - just so Ichigo will end up with Kisshu is insane and actually kind of disgusting as well, especially since she hits all the negative shipping tropes.

I won't deny that there probably is well done Kishichigo fanfiction in the fandom, however this is not such a piece of fanfiction. And I hope I can tackle this without being too biased or bash-y.

As for the story itself; character derailment and canon defilement aside, the first half of the fic can legit be summed up as the romantic conflict ("Masaya is horrible, will Ichigo finally realise this and get with Kisshu?") while the second half amounts to some admittedly half-assed conflict ("Deep Blue is back oh noes"). Even then, the main focus is the Kisshu/Ichigo pair-up, and while there is one interesting idea featured later on, its ruined by how the story flows and how quickly the idea gets brushed off.

Suffice to say, it does not look good.
