BIOS-Battery Bother
Tuesday: Took several tries to get the PC to start and it had forgotten the date. I had no idea what that meant. Had to correct the date, because the browser refused to load Twitter without it. I went out that day and turned off the PC for that. When I came home, the computer took again several tries to get started and had forgotten the date again. I called my mom and she told me the BIOS battery must be dead and she'd bring me one the next day. I left the computer on over night.
Wednesday: In the evening my mom came and brought me a new battery. With that one the PC started without trouble. Although obviously we had to set the date again.
Thursday: Several tries to get the PC to start and it had forgotten the date again. Maybe the new BIOS battery was bad. Could have been lying around for too long, who knows. So I went and bought a new one. And it worked that day.
Friday: PC started on first try and had retained the date. Problem solved, I thought.
Saturday: Took several tries to get the PC to even start and it had forgotten the date again.
I'm at a loss. I can't leave the stupid thing running all the time! And I don't know what's wrong, so I can't fix it!
