As fond as I am of CNN, it always provides me with things to be linguistically pet-peeved about.
When Obama was president, I noticed the trend of referring to presidents & such as Mister/Mrs. [last name]. What a curious change, coming just with the US's first black president. I'm not insinuating racism on CNN's part - language has a (sometimes unfortunate) way of catching on, so I suspect they picked it up from other people.
Then suddenly (presumably trying to show that they accept that Trump has become president) it's always "President Trump". Only recently I've finally heard CNN journalists refer to Trump (while in office) as Mister again.
