Had the appointment with Martin today to go over the requirements for entering Ottawa U or Carleton U as a mature student. I meet every requirement EXCEPT that I need a 4U credit in three of biology, chemistry, physics, functions and relations, advanced functions, or calculus and vectors. So either way, I do have to go back to high school. So I'm gonna take SCH4U, SBI4U, and MCR4U. Which is good, actually, I sort of wanted an excuse to have to go back and finish some high school courses before just being thrust into university. On the plus side, it's really good to know that I can bypass that whole process and just go straight into the program I want.
So Martin and I (eh HE he h EHHEeHeh C:<) were tooling around on the website and I find a list of courses and I think I found the one that I want to go for. I got so excited when I saw it, my heart skipped a beat.
The Faculty of Science's program in Biomedical Science presents the student many options. The first two years provide a background in anatomy, psychology, epidemiology and health sciences in addition to the basic sciences such as biology and chemistry. After year-two students can chose to combine additional courses in biology and biochemistry with a diverse number of optional courses in the humanities or they can chose options that focus on areas of health sciences such as neurosciences or cellular and molecular medicine. Other options such as microbiology and bio-analytical sciences will likely be available in the next year or two. Graduates will have obtained backgrounds suitable for admission to various health professional programs and to continued studies and research in the broad field of health related sciences.
I'm so excited. It popped out from the screen at me. But also shitting myself in terror. And this is a perfect excuse to get Martin's phone number. "Could I continue calling you when you leave, please? It's just, I feel like I need someone to call who's already been through this.. ;~;" It's perfect. He has a B.Sc, which is what I'm going for, too, so. Apart from having an excellent opportunity to hit on him on a long-term basis, I'll also have someone to call who knows what they're talking about.
..lol. I don't think I've ever flirted with anyone more deliberately before. We were on separate computers and mine was being slightly slowed than his, so I was all, "Mine isn't working, I'm going to have to sit beside you," and then I spent the rest of the time laughing at his jokes and flipping my hair and being charming. The only sucky thing about today was that Casper went missing for three hours. I really, really thought he was dead. Later, we found him upstairs in my dad's closet. He's never been on the floor before, I have no idea how he learned to get up the stairs on his own.
