So, I have searched through all of the tags and cannot find what I'm looking for. My apologize if this actually exists and I missed it. So for a bit of backround, I work with persons with developmental disabilities. I hang out at their house and help them live their life i.e. help them with laundry, cooking, bathing, drive them to places, etc. I work for 2 companies doing this about 55-70 hours a week. I work with 3 guys and about 8-10 staff(mostly guy, plus 2 middle aged women). I am completely stealth at work, unless someone at the office actually pays enough attention to look at my drivers license and see an "F", unlikely, had a name change already, and it has never been brought up and I'm not planning on bringing it up. Ever. I am currently looking into getting a hysto, then after getting it paid off top surgery.
I was wondering what I should tell my clients and staff. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of working at a place where I can drop off the radar for 2 months at a time for recovery and not say what's wrong. Are there any surgeries that are similar to what a hysto(unsure of what type) and double mastectomy would appear the same scarring and recovery wise that I could fib about in place of outing myself which does not sound fun? The office can get over it and think what they want to think, but I have to have something believable to tell everyone else, one of the client's mom is a an RN and likes me, so she will definitely need good cover up as to what kind of "surgeries" I'm having, therefore not able to be caring for her son. Uh who would have though my good for the soul job would have a downside that corporate retail in America wouldn't. All I can come up with is cancer, but with that much "cancerous removal" I would probably have to undergo a decent amount chemotherapy in reality and I don't think I could fake all that. Any suggestions, resources, experience? Anything would be really, really appreciated.
