invited to a TDOR ceremony

I contacted the person in charge of that trans* group at a local church that someone on here found for me, and she said they are having a meeting/ceremony on the 21st for TDOR. I don't know if I want to go though. Nervous in new situations and not really a church person and won't know anyone. That is also the next day that I have therapy. It would be nice to potentially meet some people, but I don't want to overwhelm myself. not sure what to do?
