The prospect of vacation travel meant a change in footwear--"athletic" shoes to replace the sneakers that fell apart around Christmas last year.

This weekend is Tax-Free Weekend in Tennessee (sales taxes are dropped on clothes and other items to help parents supply their kids' needs for the school year). Dad and I took advantage of it yesterday to get some clothes--and both of us got new cheap pairs of sneakers.

Took a day trip to Asheville today so I could 1) visit sister and her significant other 2) watch them and Mom buy plants at a greenhouse. Traipsing 'round that greenhouse place was a good workout for my new sneakers.

Just spent my monthly budget on a set of bedsheets.

My sneakers are falling apart. The soles are separating from the tops. I've only had the things since November. :( I expended the majority of a bottle of contact cement on those soles in a stop-gap measure, and I'm wearing my "dress" shoes now, but a more thorough solution will have to wait.FP
