Sometimes People Are Really Interesting
I went to a friend's band's show on Friday. Getting out of the house? Seeing live music? Yeah, baby.
My friend's band was great, but that's not the point. The lead singer of the band after them introduced a song by saying, "this song is about stalking." A friend of a friend responded, "hey, it happens. Sometimes people are really interesting."*
Now that's a song about stalking I'd actually like to hear: sometimes people are really interesting. A lot of songs, for good reason, are about I and me. After all, you only know what you know and you can only say what you say. I want "sometimes people are really interesting/ sometimes the sunrise kisses your forehead/ sometimes these bushes scratch my cheeks/ have you considered pachysandra?"
*My line: "would you happen to have any large, leafy bushes under your windows? Also, I have this friend who wanted to know what time you usually leave the house in the morning. These things are unrelated."
