When I see the word "Texas" my brain says it "Tay-hass!". If I then see another word ending in -as, it gets a little garbled. "Kansas" becomes "Kay-hass!" and "Arkansas" becomes "Ar-kay-hass!", etc.

I grow white eyebrow hairs, apparently.
