Beautiful morning...
I had coffee and fresh blueberry muffins with my sister this morning, I had just pulled the muffins out of the oven when she got here. We sat and chatted for a bit and then after work called to see if I could cover someone's shift and I said no for the first time we pulled a few things out of the garden.
There have been other things going on besides me working a lot, I'm taking a weekend off to go to a SCA event locally since I missed Pennsic this year. I went to my storage unit and pulled out a bunch of fabric, patterns, my SCA accessories, Belly Dance stuff (mostly so I can keep in practice) and camping gear so I can be ready. I also after a long time got this:
It took forever to get it passed as several heralds all named Jeff, oddly enough kept losing my paperwork so last Pennsic I dropped in to Herald's Point and found a Herald that wasn't named Jeff and she took care of getting all done up and submitted for me, now I just have to remember what I wanted for my device...
I have this weekend off at least until they call and ask me to come in again, now that I've done the sister thing, which I wasn't going to miss I am free to go in. I plan to do some sewing and air out the tent and repack the camping gear since it's been in storage since last year. I found my favorite dagger and I may try to tack someone down to make a new sheath for it.
The pictures don't do it justice, I got it in 1998 at the NY Ren Faire. I picked out the colors (green and black) and the stone (Malachite) and then waited a few months while it was done. It's been displayed on my dresser ever since except from April of this year until today. It needs a little polishing but it still looks great and fits in my hand perfectly.
I didn't find the box of patterns I drew myself but I can deal with the commercial ones for now until I get my own place and can totally unpack again. Someday I'll find a place that feels like "home" but for now where I am works even if there are a few inconveniences.
Not much going on fandom wise at the moment but I'm hoping to get some more written since I'm almost caught up on other stuff and I have the weekend to myself.
