I note there's an open-air production of the ballet from Yoshkar-Ola in the Mari Republic. I like the use it makes of the rather lovely building in front of which it's filmed. Pâquette appears in this production, and the recognition scene is quite well-acted.

Another Paris Opera Ballet production of the Roland Petit ballet has been posted online. The cast is Eleonora Abbagnato as Esméralda, Yann Bridard as Quasimodo, José Martinez as Claude and Hervé Moreau as Phœbus.

I recently obtained a 1988 programme from the Northern Ballet's production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, choreographed by Michael Pink to a score by Philip Feeney. Sadly, there doesn't appear to be a visual record of it, but I discovered that Pink (now working for Milwaukee Ballet) has reworked the production for them, as Esmeralda, and some ( Read more... )

Here is the gorgeous Laurent Hilaire as Claude in the 1996 Ballet de l'Opéra National de Paris production of Roland Petit's Notre Dame de Paris. He was 34 at the time, so about the right age, although with a bit too much hair! I love his facial bone-structure… ( A few screencaps… )
