you know the next line- but then it's forward once more. *fingers crossed*

Last weekend was French and Saunders, and Harry Potter; and some really good news for some of the family. This week was a reminder to be thankful for good health, since it keeps one away from hospitals and emergency departments thereof. There's no doubt that the whole H1D1 scare has imposed a whole new raft of pressures on the system. But good heavens, the difficulties confronted every day while we, all oblivious, happily go about our normal lives. So here am I, for a nano-second at least, knowingly grateful.

Tomorrow, I'm off down the Peninsula to a friend's place for an introductory Mah Jong afternoon. I have been given some pre-reading notes. And it's fair to say I am boggled by Pungs, Kongs, Winds from all directions, Honour tiles, Suit tiles, and building walls and then breaking them down. It sounds properly exhausting.

Before I get back to making sense of studying the Mah Jong notes once more, one more thing. At the bookshoppe this week, I was in the theatre section, and stumbled across some programmes from the RSC for the 1986/87 season, all for the play The Fair Maid of the West. The cast included Simon Russell Beale, Imelda Staunton, Pete Postlethwaite, and one Sean Bean. Here is a postcard that fell out of one of the programmes.

Trust you are all having a splendid weekend!
