A milestone was reached in our house yesterday. #1 son was of the age where he could finally vote. As far as I am concerned, this milestone was as important as his first steps, his first word, and etc, so that explains why I had demanded requested that I be there to witness it.
What a great young man we have. The poor guy was at the school at 6:30 am, running and shooting baskets in preparation for the start of practice in two weeks, when he finds out that he has Pop Choir practice at 7:30 am, which is precisely when we had planned to go vote. He runs home, picks me up, and we rush off to the polls, just beating an influx of voters. It was nice to see him take this right with the responsibility he has shown. I hadn't been able to take #1 daughter to the polls the first time since she was off to college, but I did get to see the envelope in which her absentee ballot was in. Guess that was close enough.
Our State Representative won! Yeah!! All that pavement pounding paid off. Overall, it was nice to see the results that came in. We took back both MN Houses, but it looks like we will still have the same governor. Oh, well.
Keeping an eye on two remaining US Senate races,
