A milestone was reached in our house yesterday. #1 son was of the age where he could finally vote. As far as I am concerned, this milestone was as important as his first steps, his first word, and etc, so that explains why I had demanded requested that I be there to witness it ( Read more... )

Please extend my congratulations to # 1 son. It is always a special experience to vote for the first time and a great privilege that a lot of people here in the U.S. take for granted.

There has been a shift in power throughout the land and I foresee some great things coming from it. Here is Mass, the fresh face for the Dems, Deval Patrick, won the race for Governor decisively. I hope this is start of good things. And like... who is going to beat Ted Kennedy, eh?(*snort)

Things are definitely shaping up for an interesting presidential election in the not too distant future. I just hope education is a big recipient for funding recommendations.

Enjoy the the day and keep your prayers up that the winds of change are warm.

God bless America.

Say, hasn't it been a number of years since your state has had a Democrat for governor? Unfortunately, we still are stuck with ours; he won by 1% of the vote. Oh yes, our governor that was hand-picked by Cheney himself. Ugh! But, at least MN two houses are now in control of the Democrats, so hopefully, Pawlentey won't be able to shove his agenda down our throats.

I echo your wish to see education take a higher priority now that the Republican stranglehold has been loosened.
