Thanks to shehasathree I'm reading about Arctic Heat cooling vests. Heat-intolerant people, eg many disabled people, don't find hot weather 'gorgeous' or 'lovely' - we find it horrible. I use wet clothing, swimwear and electric fans to keep me cool in hot weather.

There was a storm here in Britain recently, leaving many homes without power. I wasn't affected this time but it led me to follow up a rumour that disabled people can register for priority reconnection. There's an article about heat and MS here. It seems weird to post this link now, from Britain while we're having an exceptionally cool and wet summer, but I know that N America is having the opposite of that.
