There was a show on U.S. public television tonight, a profile of a number of autistic people, called "Neurotypical." It featured a small girl (four years old) who is autistic and not entirely nonverbal but mainly is echolalic. Has anybody here been watching Extraordinary People? I haven't, yet, but now that I see it's available online (at least in the UK) I think I'll take a look at some of the episodes. If you're watching it, what's your opinion?

It's a few weeks now since Jackson's mother Hazel and his boyfriend Aaron helped him to die. I quite like the way this story is being told but some of it really makes me notice that I'm watching a television soap. (Serves me right for doing that, perhaps!) ( cut for length )
