Cooling

Thanks to shehasathree I'm reading about Arctic Heat cooling vests. Heat-intolerant people, eg many disabled people, don't find hot weather 'gorgeous' or 'lovely' - we find it horrible. I use wet clothing, swimwear and electric fans to keep me cool in hot weather.

Here in Britain our weather's cool now, but friendly_crips is international so here goes. Google tells me the ( Read more... )

I haven't tried the vests myself, but I know some people who have to be up and about during Australian summers do find them useful. The cooling blanket doubles as a weighted blanket = perfect for my particular sensory needs, but as always, ymmv.

*blush* Thanks. :)

Sometimes i forget that not everyone shares my obsession with internet linguistics and knowledge of terminology.
Not that i can keep up with the 'kids these days', myself. I was reading a story a little while back, and the author kept using "[y/n]", but from the context it clearly wasn't being used to mean "yes/no". It was ...very confusing. Turns out it's a thing for "your name". Hah! /o\

That's bloody ridiculous! If somebody invented 'yn' as a slang abbreviation, that'd be fine, but '[y/n]' adds a whole lot of unnecessary punctuation. OMG WTF ;-)

It wasn't prohibitively expensive in Australia (and we often get dinged on postage), so hopefully not for you, either. Feel free to ask more questions if you think i can answer them - i haven't been using it for very long yet, but i can do my best!
