currently sitting at
Kaffa Crossing, having just finished a spicy injera wrap and now drinking my raspberry ginger beer (Reed's)... mm... my mouth is still warm and spiced from the rather quickly devoured foodie. I'm looking at
the website of Passional, where I tried on a couple of corsets last Saturday. I am seriously considering purchasing one, possibly
this one in black, size 20 (although the one in the store was $219.99), as apparently my natural waist measured 24(!). However, they didn't have a 20 or 22 in the style I liked, as most of their inventory was actually elsewhere, NYC or something, and due to come back this past Tuesday. I'm also considering just getting a waist cincher instead, or possibly an underbust corset, or maybe just purchasing a bustier, which would be a lot cheaper. I know it's crazy to drop a couple hundred dollars when I'm living off the few thousand I have left, but I imagine myself wearing this more than just for clubbing, such as when I want to dress up a little bit for some/any reason, such as wanting to look good while wandering around the chichi part of a city. Another thing to consider is that Pennsylvania charges no sales tax on clothing, shoes or even yarn. And they are real corsets with steel boning, and looked very well-made...
Tomorrow, we are planning on hitting the zoo...
not having a job or any sort of schedule at all is really driving home the fact that I'm not sure what motivates me specifically... other than basic needs. I've been feeling some drive to create - to knit, crochet, bead, draw and/or write - but have had the usual difficulty really starting anything. I did start the crocheting, but the cheap 4-ply cotton yarn I bought from walmart makes it difficult. I bought the 1lb cone, which is supposed to be used for machines, and perhaps that's why it separates so easily when I wrangle with it. probably it's just cheapy-cheapy. I think I may need to break down and buy acrylic, just for practicing. I've at least been keeping a sort of log of our trip thus far; it would be quite a stretch to refer to it as a journal at this point, though. hmmmm...
p.s. I do like Philadelphia... actually feels like a real city! it's very alive... and lots of places specifically sell fair-trade coffee. heehee..
