Another birthday come and gone, and I’m 41. For some reason 41 sounds and feels so much more than a year older than 40. I don’t normally have this kind of visceral reaction to the sound of a year, but, well, I guess this time I do. Although I do love Halloween, I am pretty much not participating this year. I managed to put up a few decorations, and that's it. I made a half-hearted attempt to put together a Greta Garbo costume, which mostly involved me looking up Greta Garbo's life history and a bunch of photos, and knowing someone who has a cloche hat. I have been drunk-dialed, and awakened. (You know who You are.) And now I am awake. So I was editing. I wrote something before going to bed that I think I'm proud of. It needs a little work, and I know I have a tendency to focus on the detail of the action and leave out the details of the scenery, so I was trying to add that in.
