Jill came tumbling after

Mystery as to why my arm has been hurting me solved - I forgot that I fell on Monday. Or rather, was bowled over by a big white dog at the dog park on Monday. I saw it coming, and controlled the fall, and in fact was not hurt at all at the time. But apparently now I'm old enough that a minor fall that I can completely  forget about by an hour later will cause me stiffness and soreness and discomfort for two days afterward. Dangit. I hate this whole getting older thing.

It's Mingus' fault, of course. He was playing chase with the big white dog, and decided to run through the humans as a safety factor. Safety for him. Not so much for me. I couldn't move out of both dog's way (ways?) and so I was trying to make it so I'd only have to put my hands down. But the big white dog thought it would be more fun to continue on sweeping my feet out from under me rather than just side-swiping me, and I ended up doing a slow motion mostly one-handed push up with my feet in the air. No scrapes, no bruises, not even really all that dirty. Just got up, brushed off, nodded at the apology from the dog's owner, and laughed it all off. No biggie.

Yesterday I couldn't figure out why it hurt to lift my arm above my shoulder, why my hand was sore, my neck sort of out of joint, and why I seemed to be achy in ways that could not be explained by my activies the day before. If I'd been warmed up and stretched, it wouldn't have been anything worse than we do in dance class on a regular basis. But I wasn't. And I'm not 18 anymore. Meh. Stupid dogs.

Oh, weekend report, late. Saturday night I went to two parties. Was going to be three, but we wisely decided that driving from Bonney Lake to Bothell was really too much for one evening. Especially as I'd started in West Seattle and had to go back there. But the main party was
tbclone47's bday/holiday party. It was a lot of fun. You can go look at his pictures. I am not so photogenic in them. At least, I'm going to go with that explanation, because I thought I totally looked cute, and the pictures made me think crap, I look weird and fat-faced and drunk. And I don't even drink. Whatever. Maybe I was too tall - Bibbet says that the angle is everything, and if people take pictures from below you it makes your face look fatter. I think I'm going to buy that to make me feel better. But it was fun party, and a good time was had by all. Misty and Miki had fun making me blush.

Trying frantically to get ready for holidays, but it's a tough one this year. So behind all the time. But there are festivities to look forward to, and fun presents to give to folks, and I'm enjoying my pretty tree. And these cute little felt covered boxes from Safeway, of all places. I just love holiday decorations. It's a sickness.

party, dog, sore, falls, holiday, old now, fun
