RANT TIME!!!
Now we rant about the stupidity of my father. Now, we won't go into ever reason as to why my father is a major moron. Nope, we only need to talk about this one thing.
He freaked out the other day when my brother said he wasn't going to get his kid baptised. My dad's response to that?
Dad: You HAVE to get it baptised!
Brother: Why?
Dad: What if the unthinkable happened?
Brother: ...
Dad: You don't want your baby going to hell do you?! Because that's what'll happen if she doesn't get baptised!
... yeah, so I'm paraphrasing here, I wasn't actually there at the time, I heard this from my brother and my sister a few days later.
Basically, his whole argument was that by not getting baptised the kid would go to hell. This coming from the man who doesn't have a pure thought in his head, who swears, smokes, drinks, watches porn, NEVER goes to church, blasphemes and all sorts of other shit. And he's got the balls to bitch at my brother for not dunking his kids head in a bowl of water!! (yes, I know there's more to it than that, but I'm not gonna get too technical)
My brother DID raise a valid point that my dad just ignored.
Babies are born without sin. They're born pure and unsullied. Go how the hell does a little kid go to hell just because it wasn't baptised? It's not broken the 10 commandments, how could it? It's a newborn! Gah... so confused and irritated!!
Especially since... my dad's so worried about this baby going to hell, he's overlooked the fact that he's got a front row seat and I've got a box seat with DA! (we're gonna throw pissed off cats at everyone sitting below us!)
Okay... I just think it's stupid, yanno? How he can get so worked up over something so small.
It's their choice, they don't want to do it, they don't have to. He can't force them.
But telling them that their kids going to hell because of it... that's just fucked up!!
