I was so excited the night before we got on the ship, that I literally couldn't sleep. I would wake up every couple of hours wondering if it was time yet. I'm sure I drove raayat totally nuts. One of the other benefits of being British Museum members is that four times a year they open the museum in the evenings just for their members. In addition to having free run of the galleries and exhibits with significantly fewer crowds than the usual day, they also run a pretty good range of talks.

Fairly late last year R and I decided to become "Friends" of the British Museum. We go to see practically all their exhibitions anyway, and when you tallied up all the prices of admission, it was very close to the cost of an annual joint membership.
