hey, kids. As many of you may know, I'm participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life again this year. This time I'm even acting as functioning co-captain while my parents are off cruising the Mediterranean.
Relay for Life is an ACS fundraiser held in countless towns and areas all over the nation. Our Relay happens July 13-14. Teams collect pledges and donations beforehand, and on the day set up tents around a walking track. Then, from 7pm until 9am, each team attempts to keep at least one member walking around the Relay track at all times. The first year that Lakewood had a Relay, my team was the Mad Hatters. Last year we were Madder; this year we are Maddest.
If you're in the same town I am, I'd like to ask you to join my team and walk with us. This year's theme is "pirates." There's free food, pirate movies, a costume contest, a RFL t-shirt (if you sign up by the end of the week), and really good companionship. Plus, you know that everything you raise is going to a really, really worthwhile cause.

You'll click through until you get to the team selection page, then enter "maddest hatters" into the Team search box.
Or, click on the "Join Our Team" link
here, if that works.
If, however, you're not in the same place as I am, that means I'm shamelessly asking you to donate to cancer research.
I KNOW we're all penniless college students (or grads). Cancer, though, is something that I think has touched all of us. It's certainly changed my life, as well as the lives of others who, in a just world, wouldn't have ever experienced pain or trouble.
Give what you can, or just leave encouraging messages.
