I have lots of things going on, but less drive to update.
Let's see...
At poker last night with Z and the kids, I had the most fabulous spate of beginner's luck imaginable. I won almost 4600 fake bucks, which amounted to $10 in the real world ($5 if you factor out the $5 buy-in). Every time Z tried to out-bluff me, I had a straight, a flush, a full freaking house. That's sibling rivalry paying off!
I want to join a singing group for the summer and can't decide between the
Denver Women's Chorus (which I for a while didn't realize are GLBT-affiliated with some straight allies) or the
High Country Chorus, which is Sweet Adeline (barbershop for ladies) style.
Had my first session with the ADD counselors, who totally get me and my problems cause I'm such a textbook case. Gail herself has ADD. They're going to help me get a better handle on some of those symptoms y'all are so familiar with from me -- the lack of follow-through, the keeping track of time, the sense of what things are more important than others. I get along with the ladies really well, too. I'm excited to do this.
The boy is good... we talked via facebook message for a little while last night. He has to debug the computer today to see if he can reinstall a lot of internetty things and get on AIM tonight.
Alex and I are supposed to hang tonight. Our parents have been trying to set me up with Alex (or, I recently learned, his twin Joel) from about halfway through high school. It won't work now, but that in no way precludes chilling. I'm waiting for his call. He had a test at 3.
It's been a blustery pair of days, yesterday and today. Tons of branches are down everywhere.
Zach's summer job is to mow lawns for the Denver Archdiocese. One of his training videos is called "Protecting God's Children." We are thoroughly amused.
A couple of nights ago, we watched Magnolia, Zach and his friends and me. No one grokked it, not a single bit, so we MST3Ked it -- especially once it started raining frogs.
This entry is long enough, so I'll make a separate last-week-deluge entry.
