when the light turns red while you're in the middle of the intersection, the appropriate action is to proceed through the intersection, not to stop dead. 'specially when there's someone waiting behind you to turn as well.

It was actually defeated by a whole lot more than that. The senate needed 60 votes to advance it to a yes-or-no vote, and then they would need 67 votes on the yes-or-no vote to ratify the amendment. 49 people voted to advance it, 48 voted against it.

Here's what being in DC for over 6 months has done to me...I too was going to inform you that the Senate must "close debate" before actually voting on the bill...and closing debate requires 60 votes. So essentially the bill was filibustered (i beleive) AHH! I'm sucked in! I hope that you are having a FABULOUS summer in beautiful Colorado and pls. keep in touch! :) We must make great plans for senior year!
