Before anyone asks, no, I will not put this behind an LJ cut.
There is no such thing as poetic justice. There is no such thing as something that is an 'isolated event'. Everything is connected, and everything leads into and from everything else. It needs to be understood that this is not the fault of anyone, nor will it ever be. It needs to be understood that some things are just inherently unfair. It needs to be understood that tolerance of others is nothing bad. It needs to be understood that no one person is ever guilty of as much as others and they themselves insist they are.
Does anyone understand that? It doesn't pay to assume the worst of others. All you do is hurt them and yourselves. Don't assume someone is lying because they did bad things in their lives. Don't assume someone is trash because you see their lifestyle as beneath you. Don't pick fights over something completely stupid just because you want to put someone down to make your day better. You're not helping yourself. You're not helping anyone.
Don't judge when you don't know. Don't criticize just because you can. Being a hypocrite because you can is horrible, and it just makes you worse than someone who told the truth and caused trouble.
Honor is not something that should be laughed at.
Honesty is not a crime.
Affection and friendship are not tools to barter with.
Respect is not something that can be forced, it is something earned. If you expect respect, then give it. Don't demand, because you will not get it. You'll only get fear.
There is nothing wrong with asking. Demands make people rebel, they make people go against things they want to do because you challenged them. People are not confident in themselves. People do not ignore the words of others just because they say they do.
There is no such thing as someone who is worthless. There is no such thing as someone who should be cast aside. There is no excuse for using and abusing those who think that you care for them. There is no excuse! NONE.
Don't any of you understand that? There is enough pain out there. Too many people are eager to hurt, to do something just because they can. You should try being happy, just because you can. Do something good for yourself, just because you can.
Go ahead and be selfish, get something for someone because you want to, not because you expect them to like it. Don't force them to like it, just be happy they took the gift. Be happy if someone smiles at you. Accept compliments in the honesty they were given.
Not everyone lies.
Not everyone cheats to get ahead.
Not everyone is heartless.
