Also this month,stormsongk and I travelled to the mountains of Western Maryland.
On our way west, we stopped the the road cut at Sideling Hill.  It's an 810 foot tall cut through a syncline, exposing all the layers of folded rock.
Just gorgeous.

Every summer, American Green Tree Frogs hunt around our sitting room windows.  They're very used to people and will even peek in the windows to see what we're up to.  This one was waiting patiently on the shady hydrangea leaves during the hottest part of the day.

It's come to my attention that since stormsongk and I have adopted our cats, life has begun to imitate art.  About 20 years ago, I bought an art tile that looks a great deal like three-month-old Hobbes.

Sorry I haven't posted much lately.
Things have been quiet round the house.
We did hear back yesterday from the engineer who is designing our new water system. The design is finished and has been submitted to the County and the State. He heard back from the County, which made approving noises. Now we're waiting to hear back from the State.
