Last week my dad brought his sturdy Polish apple press over, so we could use it to make an incursion into the vast quantities of apples that keep falling off our trees. It's a handsome press:

set on Flickr, documenting the process in more photos with descriptions. We got 22 litres of incredibly delicious raw apple juice for our troubles, and there are still plenty of apples left for applesauce, cakes, and eating raw.
The Urban Sketchers blog I've been invited to join will be starting up soon. So far it looks to become a great place - the artist contributing do great work, and it's interesting to see the many styles of representation and choice of subject, as well as the different towns around the world. My introduction post will be going up shortly, and I'll link to it then.
