I realise that this journal has changed quite a bit as to content over the past year, but since most watchers are still hanging on I'm hoping there is still some interest in the ramblings, photos and art that go on in here. Today I have a rec for you:

The
Urban Sketchers blog is getting ready to take off from the beginning of next month. At the moment the contributing artists, from towns (almost) all over the world, are being introduced - you can see my introduction in
this post on the blog.
We're still lacking contributors from the African and Australian continents, and if any of you people on the Southern continents dabble in urban sketching I urge you to join the
Urban Sketchers pool on Flickr and start posting your work - who knows? You may be recruited as the local sketching correspondent of your town.
Of matters a bit closer to home - here's a light sketch I did of the view from my morning stop today, while waiting for the bus that takes me to work:

I did it in my little Moleskine cahier - these sketchbooks are so small and light they fit easily into a coat pocket, so if you don't mind the thin paper quality they're ideal sketchbooks for on-the-scene sketching. I may ink this with lines and colour, I haven't quite decided yet.
