I discovered a Middle Eastern Halal grocery store today!  My husband studied Arabic with the US Army and we fell deeply in love with the cuisine and the culture of the Middle East.  This store is quite a find.  I walk in and they have massive amounts of food in there that you just can't find anywhere else.  I can even get a WHOLE goat or lamb!  Why ( Read more... )

in NYC is a grocery chain called Fairway. they are the only ones from whom i can get grassfed dairy, and instead of a meat counter they have an entire cold room with jackets available in case you get chilly. the best cheeses, olive oils, pickles, fresh pastas. it is from them i get my pumpkin raviolis. it is from them i get my butter and the lovely ( Read more... )
