ah, Fairway
in NYC is a grocery chain called Fairway. they are the only ones from whom i can get grassfed dairy, and instead of a meat counter they have an entire cold room with jackets available in case you get chilly. the best cheeses, olive oils, pickles, fresh pastas. it is from them i get my pumpkin raviolis. it is from them i get my butter and the lovely french long onions that taste like shallots. in the fall, they have gorgeous mushrooms -- and always a new one i've never heard of.
today i found out, the owner has a blog.
