Hot Cross Buns

As far as I know, they don't make, nor sell, Hot Cross Buns in the United States. What a damned shame (eta: I've been corrected, and how!). So I had to make my own this year - a first for me, as yeast and I are historically not best friends. Despite a lack of prettiness, symmetry, and a bit of a brown bum, I am rather tickled with the results;





Found the recipe randomly, when trying to locate one that seemed both simple(r), and with a photo most representative of what I'm missing from home. Sadly I could not find lemon/orange rind that were not saturated with corn syrup - hopefully you'll have better luck than I.
ETA: Hot Cross Buns are delicious straight out of the oven, but possibly even better the next day, thrown into the toaster and slathered with butter, jam, or...omg, honey.
